When Ty Myers thinks of his sophomore album, he thinks about the lightning strikes of inspiration that would push him to a lyric, or sometimes an entire song. Those lightning strikes would happen everywhere from Austin to Muscle Shoals to Barbados and Paris. That’s why he named his new album Heavy On The Soul (via RECORDS Nashville/Columbia): these are the songs that he knew needed to get out of his soul.

The Texas native has already proven he has a lot to say and plenty of people ready to listen. Since his 2023 track “Tie That Binds” took off on TikTok in 2023, life has been a whirlwind for Myers. He released his debut album The Select in January 2025, an album that brought the guitar-slinging singer-songwriter around the world and to the charts, thanks to the PLATINUM single “Thought It Was Love.” He even performed the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Live shows are where Myers thrives these days with sold-out headline tours, Stagecoach debut, Austin City Limits, and a coveted opening slot for Luke Combs’ international stadium tour. Hailed as the “next face of country music” (Rolling Stone) and “a generational talent” (No Depression), the Billboard Country Rookie of the Month has been featured in their 21 Under 21 all-genre list and selected for Spotify’s RADAR program.
